DentalPro™ Dental Office Sanitizing System
The QuickPure™ water system prevents microbial contamination of water from dental operatory water lines and attached handpieces. There has been serious concern that microbial contamination of dental office water systems puts dental patients at risk of diseases. The problem of water contamination, especially when due to cross contamination from other patients, is greatest for patients with weak immune systems. Dental water can become contaminated from the water supply. More commonly, contamination results from growth of microbial biofilms on the inner surface of water lines. Such biofilms may include germs introduced from other patients by instrument suck-back. Germs can slough off from biofilms as water passes through water lines. It is not uncommon for water coming out of dental handpieces to have more than one million bacteria per milliliter while the water entering the dental lines have less than 100 bacteria per milliliter. The QuickPure™ system is capable of dispensing ozone dissolved in water. Studies have shown that ozone dissolved in water kills germs that cause gingivitis, plaque and bad breath. Ozone dissolved in water can also provide a sterile surgical field and sterilizing irrigant, which can be used to kill and flush away bacteria and reduce bleeding during surgery. Additionally, there are no known problems with accidental ingestion of water containing dissolved ozone. Since ozone dissolved in water is an oxidizer, it is expected that teeth may be whitened by exposure to the solution. The inexpensive QuickPure™ system automatically kills waterborne germs and destroys biofilms where germs can hide and grow. A unit connected to the water lines for each operatory gives an audible alarm if the water should become unsafe. In addition to the above uses the ozonated water may also be used as a surface disinfectant. As a surface sanitizer the solution could be used on; counters, trays, instruments, hands, radiation shields, chair and most other surfaces where a safe disinfectant is desired. As the liquid dries absolutely no disinfectant residue is left behind. Ozone dissolved in water has been approved by the FDA for use in contact with food and food preparation surfaces. In summary, the advantages of the QuickPure™ operatory ozone system include:

QuickPure™ Contact Lens Sanitizer
The adjacent photos are of the latest prototype of a battery-powered contact lens cleaner designed to clean and disinfect contact lenses automatically in three minutes. Lenses are placed in the case with a small amount of saline solution. Inserting the lens case into the opening turns on the pocket-sized battery-powered device. Bubbles of ozone then dissolve in the saline solution. After three minutes, the device automatically turns off and a light signals completion of the operation. The lens case can then be taken from the device. The lenses can be removed or left stored in the case, which also has been disinfected by the process.

Advantages of this QuickPure™ system are greater speed, convenience, comfort, safety and antimicrobial effectiveness at lower cost. Microbiological testing indicates that even Aspergillis fumigatus, a tough-to-kill yeast, can be disinfected in 3 minutes. Dissolved ozone turns back into ordinary oxygen, so there is no chemical disinfectant to cause allergic reactions in eyes. Disinfecting the case can reduce the risk of lens contamination by germs growing in the lens case, which ordinary disinfection may fail to kill. ALAB is looking for a licensee or joint venture partner to do the necessary testing to gain regulatory approval, and to manufacture and distribute these devices. Other QuickPure™ Health Related ProductsQuickPure™ ozone technology has many other applications. For example QuickPure™ technology is versatile and can be applied to: water purification for various purposes, a footbath to treat athletes feet, commercial kitchen sanitizers, the washing of fruits and vegetables, veterinary care, keratitis treatment and eye surgery, ear canal disinfection, microbiology labs, operating rooms, doctors offices and most other uses where a sterile liquid or a disinfectant that leaves no residue is desired. The technology is versatile and can even be made to be portable. Best of all the technology is economical.
